[ it's dinner time! so ochako is sitting on the kitchen counter, kicking her feet, maybe humming lightly as she waits for the microwave to chime. when she spots clem, she gives her a smile and wave. ]
Hey! You hungry? Mine'll just be a minute, then the microwave's all yours!
[ it feels like there's always someone in the kitchen... but with how many of them there are with just the one kitchen, that makes sense. clementine gives her a little nod and starts rifling around to find something instant to make herself. ]
I'm not sure. I just came in for lunch and there was a huge mess - like, the microwave door was blown off. I think it was egg? So maybe we shouldn't try cooking eggs in it anymore, now that they've fixed it.
[ we’re checking out the gun shop! there’s so much here that ochako is looking a little overwhelmed… where to even begin? she gives clem a bit of an unsure smile when she enters before turning back to it. ]
Hey, you’re good with guns, right? Any ideas where a beginner should start? There’s… a lot more than I thought there’d be.
Really? That'd be awesome! Thank you, Clementine-san!
[ she is far too excited about this. ]
Bucky-san showed me how to hold a pistol before, when I got the one for healing. But that one just shoots fire, so I didn't really need to know much. This is a lot different.
[ ... ] If we were somewhere else, I would say yeah. You should heal.
But this place is dangerous. And now - everyone here has access to these guns. I think... As long as you don't push yourself too hard, it might be better to make sure you can aim, and that you know what to expect from the recoil. At least a little bit.
Better to heal slow and have a sore arm - even a more permanent injury - than to wind up dead because you didn't practice while you had the chance.
[ when clem comes to the saloon, she makes a bee-line straight for the piano. which she sits down at and proceeds to just. tap keys idly on. she does not know how to play piano. ]
... Feel like explaining magic to me?
[ clem asks, as if magic would follow the same rules in every world? ]
Oh, yeah, that's Bakugou-kun - he's from the hero course. But in our world it's a genetic thing? Like, just a weird kind of evolution that's really different from person to person, and it's limited based on what we're capable of, too. I'm pretty sure Bakugou-kun can only make explosions from his hands, not his whole body?
[ shrugs! why would she know, he's not even her classmate! ]
And mine is similar to my mom's, but stronger. [ clem can see the finger beans if she wants, as a treat. ] Zero Gravity, meaning I can take away the weight from things and make them float. There's a weight limit, and if I use it on myself I get nauseous really quickly, but the more I train with it, the better I can handle it. Kind of like muscle training, I guess.
[ the cyoa drives itself. and also she was surrounded by magic-wielders, so her contribution felt pretty minimal to her. but she's happy with the results regardless. ]
Yep! I mean, the whole place was glitching, and so were we, but I was only there for... hm, less than a day before we started through the portal? And I kind of lost track of time when we were in there.

It's cool being able to use a microwave again.

[ she somehow managed to miss that entire debacle! amazing. ]

[ hm. her head tilts curiously. ]
It was kind of hard to miss. Did you just find somewhere else to cook, or...?
no subject
[ honestly she probably just walked right past it and was like 'ah yes, ruined things. as is the norm.' without thinking. ]
What even happened to it?

You'll want something light. Well - lighter. A pistol or something. [ after all, shotguns can be a bit. much... ] I'll teach you to shoot one.

That means you mostly just need practice to get used to the recoil.

How's it not magic? Can't one kid, like, explode?

Your power sounds way cooler than explosions.

The side effects aren't great, but yeah, I think so, too. Mine's a lot more versatile.

week 7, friday.
[ ochako is beaming! she's so pleased at how many of her team made it through alive? ]
I knew you guys could do it. And thanks for finding the leaders - we were all pretty worried about them.

[ the cyoa drives itself. and also she was surrounded by magic-wielders, so her contribution felt pretty minimal to her. but she's happy with the results regardless. ]
Yeah? You could tell they were in trouble?
no subject
Yeah - Goat-san came to talk to us. Or his aura, or something? He said they were lost, but that you guys were going to go looking for them.
no subject
Were you, uh... Okay? Over there? [ wherever the dead went? ]
