I'm not sure. I just came in for lunch and there was a huge mess - like, the microwave door was blown off. I think it was egg? So maybe we shouldn't try cooking eggs in it anymore, now that they've fixed it.
I'll just... Stick to things that have microwave instructions on them. To be on the safe side.
[ although what she's retrieved is instant noodles that you make by adding hot water, not by microwaving them. so she shuffles around the kitchen, getting a tea kettle and filling it with water etc. ]
[ there's a beep, and ochako hops off the counter to fetch her own dinner, taking a long whiff and sighing. it may just be instant yakisoba, but it still smells soooo goooood.
gotta let it cool first, though, so she sets it down to lean back against the counter. ]
Or you could learn how to cook! But it's way easier to just microwave something.
Oh, you're missing out! It's a kind of rice cake, and it's usually filled with stuff - like red bean paste, or ice cream. You can find some with whole strawberries inside, too!
Yep! You can eat it with basically anything, but I like the sweet version.
I wonder if we could ask Rabbit-san or Fox-san for some...? Or maybe a recipe book... I've never made mochi before, but it can't be that hard. And I bet they'd want to try it, too!
[ people aren't always big on 'sharing out of the goodness of their heart' where she's from. but she... nods... it's nice to be able to try new things. ]
It's hard sometimes when you don't have the money for extra food, but when I can, I don't mind sharing. And desserts taste better that way, if you ask me. So we'll share it if we can get some mochi, okay?

[ but she is not trying to be a downer so she kind of. pivots from what she had meant and gives a small smile. ]
Microwaves are definitely easier.

[ she can't fault that! but freshly cooked food is delicious. ]
There's nothing wrong with easier, though! Hey, what's your favorite food? Maybe we can see if they have it for later.

Sure. Then... If you get any, let me know.
Not like we have to worry that much about scarcity here.
no subject
Yeah, we don't even have to go and buy our own groceries or anything. It's nice, isn't it?
no subject
[ because she's used to having to forage and hunt. ]
But grocery shopping kind of sounds nice, too. [ for the nostalgia of it, if nothing else. ]

[ it's just a reminder of how much she needs the money from a good job, really. ]
no subject
[ she was too young to really think about money and then it kind of stopped mattering. ]
