[Rupe looks up at Jeanne, then climbs onto his feet and wags his tail inquisitively. Hers is a somewhat familiar scent.]

[ She kneels to be more on eye level with Rupe, holds out a hand to him, and then she gestures at Rufus with her other hand. ]

What happened?

[At last, a hand that Rupe pads forward to sniff. Unfortunately for Jeanne, his sharp gaze never leaves her—perhaps indicating that even he doesn't know the answer.]

[ That's fine. She can bond with Rupe tonight instead. ]

[With only an hour to truly familiarize himself with Ochako's scent, Rupe dodges her hand if she attempts to pet him. But he does sniff diligently to get to know her.]
