Mm... I agree. I've seen how he smiles sometimes - like he's sad, or hurting, but he doesn't want anyone to worry about him. He's strong to be able to do that, but I don't think he should have to be.
I want to see him smile for real more often, when he's really, genuinely happy.

... en. For a long time, gege was alone - and he still thinks, sometimes, that's for the better. You can always see it in his eyes, if you're looking. Right before he shutters it away. "If I am unlucky, then I should be alone, to keep people from getting hurt." If he smiles, then people won't worry, and they won't look any deeper.
I don't think he's really realized that so many people are looking, though, and can tell when his smiles don't reach his eyes. How many people care about him.

I think he's starting to, at least. So all we have to do is keep telling him that he's not alone, and that's okay - that we want to be here with him, and support him like he does us.
But he stops at one of the milk jug game booths, turning the umbrella briefly with his hand against his shoulder while he considers that. ]
Considering how long it's been, it did take a little time for him to start noticing, didn't it? Enough that he could stop thinking it was a fluke, or only a few people. [ a huff ] But it's what he deserves, at least. To know he's not alone, and there are people who will listen, and spend time with him.

Yeah. I'm really glad he's starting to get that Whatever he's been through before... it's made him strong and all, but he should get to be happy, too. That's why I'm glad he has you - because even if we can't visit each other after this ends, he should have someone who makes him happy.
