If the splintering spreads like a disease would, it has to be culled before it can spread, until we can get to the source. I know I would rather be killed than left to become a husk, if I were infected.

...I think that's what I'd want, too. The alternative isn't worth it.
We should definitely keep looking, it's just... with the leaders having forgotten everything, and the rest of us having to keep things secret so we don't disturb the Realm even more, it's going to be hard to find something else. Or even if we do, to share that information safely, and that's even before factoring in how long it could take to find it.
