It almost makes it feel like home, doesn’t it? [ she thinks of stain for a moment, and shakes her head. ] Maybe not everyone does it for the same reasons, but that’s okay, right? As long as they’re still helping people.

Right? All of them seem so different. It's really interesting to see where things overlap - like some of the constellations are the same across worlds, but I would've thought they'd all be different.

I noticed the same thing. Usagi showed me a couple that I didn't recognize, but there were others from other people that I did. But they do say that all of the worlds share one sky. It's probably just a really, really big one.

I guess we haven't really explored enough of space to say that isn't possible. But that would mean they're all connected, huh? No matter how far away they are?

Well...[he rubs the back of his neck.] Some people do. But I agree with it.

That's what it means though, yeah. Even if they're far apart, there's always a way to connect them to each other. That's kind of like the Realm, isn't it? [all of them came from different worlds, but now they're all here despite how far they once were.]

Huh… I guess you’re right.

I like that idea. It sounds like a relief, to know that you’re still close to a friend in some way, even when you aren’t together. And it almost makes it feel like we’re not as far from home.

As long as you keep your friends in your heart, you're always together. [thanks sora.] You probably miss people from home, too, don't you?

I think so, too. [but he shrugs.] And if that person's not here for them, then we find a way to step in so they aren't alone. Easy.

Riku and Kairi. They're my best friends. [he misses all of his friends, of course, but it's always been about those two and always will be.] It's been a long time since we've all been together for longer than a day or two.

Oh... So you must really like seeing the stars, then, huh?

Yeah. Kairi's the one who told me the worlds share one sky. And Riku used to tell me that all of the stars were different worlds. Even when I'm not with them, we're still connected.

Your friends are pretty sappy, huh? [ it's fine, she laughs. ] It must be nice.

I don't know. Usually they say I'm the sappy one. [this is the only time he will ever admit that!!] But yeah. I've known both of them practically my whole life, so it's always weird when they're not around.

You can all be sappy. Maybe that’s what brought you all together in the first place!

Maybe. [it's said with such fondness that it's actually possible.] Let me guess, that's not what brought you and your friends together?

Mostly it was just having the same classes, for me. I get along fine with most people, so…

Even now, there’s only two people in my class that I wouldn’t call friends.

That's probably for the best isn't it? It's way easier to work with your friends than people that you don't get along with.

Right, but heroes need to be able to work with anyone, even if they don't get along, you know? Otherwise, it could put the people that we're supposed to be helping in danger.

[ she kind of trails off, looking thoughtful. it doesn't last long, though. ]

Anyway, we have to be able to adapt if we're going to do any good.

Adaptation's probably the most important part of it. [sometimes...people don't want to work with you despite you wanting to work with them.] It's what we have to do here, right? So that's not so different.
