They've already done so much for us. [ giving up their memories, and now this. ] There has to be a better way for us to help them, too.
[ if only she could think of it. ochako's never really been the best idea person, though - even her crepe stand idea for the school festival was rejected. ]
...About the same. It feels like we should have been able to do so much more than we could. And... it's hard to believe that this is really what the Realm would have wanted. Didn't it want us to help? How can we do that if we lose more people? The law of retaliation never works, in the long run.
Yeah...it's weird. I don't know if it thinks this is helping, or if something changed after what Virid did. This all started because of a disturbance, but if we can't undisturb it...what if it keeps happening?
I've asked the leaders a few times what we can do to help, and I've never really gotten a good answer. Maybe they don't know either.
[ what if it keeps happening? isn’t that just the question of the hour. ]
...We’ll just have to try to be ready. [ how, she doesn’t know yet. there has to be something, though - some precautions they can take, or preparations, just in case. Like the self-defense classes Archer-san suggested.
[ it’s a meager start, but that’s better than nothing at all, by far. ]
I think… they’re as confused as we are. It sounded like they weren’t here for much longer than us, and they’ve given up their memories, too.
Yeah...that's part of the reason I'm trying to get to know them as much as possible. If we become friends them, we should have a better idea how to help them. Even if not all of them seem like they want to.
It might depend on the situation. There aren't any rules here about trying to help the leaders, so maybe it's alright in that sense... but I think it's worth considering what they want, too, instead of just charging ahead. There's probably a reason why some of them wouldn't want help - maybe it's pride, or maybe they feel responsible for us, and don't want us to endanger ourselves for their sake. I don't know.
I don't think that means we have to stop trying to help entirely... just that we should keep in mind that they deserve a choice in how it's done, too.
[when it's put like that, sure, that makes sense. he's well aware that he tends to bulldoze straight into people to try and help them even when they don't want it (elsa. absolutely elsa.), but it is important that they have a choice.]
Then...all we can do is really ask them what they want us to do. I've asked before and it sounded like they're focused on helping us instead, but maybe something will change later.
They did give up their memories to help us. I think it makes sense they’d be focused on making sure that doesn’t go to waste.
But I don’t think it’s wrong to remind them that they have lives to get back to, just like we do. And that neglecting themselves won’t help us either, in the long run. I guess it's just a matter of getting the balance right?
It's the balancing that's the problem. [so he agrees, but he's just not great at it.] If enough people remind them without bugging them about it, maybe it'll actually get through to them.
I think it’ll help if we become their friends - it doesn’t have to be everyone here, but at least one of us. I’ve heard that even the most prideful people will accept help from a friend, even if they turn everyone else away.

Most of them don't seem to mind the help, though.

[he plans to either way, but another perspective might help.]

Yeah. I think I've heard something like that, too. [riku.] It'll be effort, but more than worth it. I don't mind trying to be that person.

Wanna stay here for a while? Or are you ready to head out? [bc this seems like a tidy stopping point.]
