[ sometime in the afternoon, ochako comes out of the ruins. there is an arrow in her leg, but she’s walking, so she’s fine! surely! she doesn’t even seem to notice it!
she does, however, notice claude? and immediately turns to go back into the ruins. Maybe if she’s quick enough he won’t see her?? too bad that limp is still slowing her down! ]
Hey, Ocha-- (And then she's turning heel and THERE"S AN ARROW IN HER LEG?? And of course, he isn't going to let that go so he gives chase!! He's chasing her down and just gonna
Grab her by the arm? Wrist? Hand Uwah this is really romantic in some shoujo context I guess.) Hey! Where d'you think you're going like this?
[ oh nooooo this is awful! the very last thing she wanted! and all escape routes are sealed off as long as he's holding onto her... wait why is he - what? ]
I'm fine! It's just a couple of scrapes - it'll heal in no time. It's nothing to worry about, really!
[ does everyone here really think she's that delicate? ]
Just a few scrapes? (Oh, boy... He sighs and gives her a very gentle tug to get her attention. He knows how she is! She's an easily flustered sort of girl but he needs her to focus right now,) Ochako... you have an entire arrow in your leg.
[ her voice trails off as she looks down and sure enough, there's an arrow right above the stab wound in her leg. she stares at in shocked silence for a good, long moment. ]
Is that why I tripped...? I thought it was just a rock. [ aaaaaaa ] I-I don't know how to deal with arrows yet...
(Yeah, that sure is an arrow and now that she sees, he can let her go. )
Hey, relax. (Which, sounds like the dumbest thing in the world to say to someone who's just been shot at!! But he means it,) You're in luck, okay? Claude von Riegan, the best archer in the Leicester Alliance, at your service.
(He can take care of this. He's been in enough battles!! )
Let's get you back to the town so we can get you taken care of.
(And he looks down at her leg before he goes anywhere,)
[ the internal screaming reaches a new pitch. her face starts to go red, but instead of letting claude see her blush again, she immediately covers her face with her hands. her voice is muffled underneath. ]
(ANd it doesn't have to be weird either? He's just going to start carrying her away from the ruins and towards the tree and, eventually, the bridge into the town but they still have some time until they really get there so, )
[ once some of the heat starts to fade from her cheeks, ochako lowers her hands a little. she's still red, but it's fine? maybe? she's never been carried like this before, how embarrassing. ]
Mm... But if it can change, it'll be harder to keep track of everything. Just because someone is blind today doesn't mean they will be on Thursday night, or on Saturday. That would make it harder to figure out what's happened.
[ at least thinking this out is helping her calm down a little? ]
...And if someone regained their sense of touch after killing someone, they'd have a better chance at hiding any wounds they picked up, or at least explaining them away.
(Because someone is definitely going to die given the patterns so far!!)
If it helps, I haven't been able to taste or smell since this morning. I shouldn't complain given some of the other stuff people are dealing with... but one of the most disappointing feelings in the world is probably sitting down for breakfast, getting ready to start off your day.... and getting nothing out of it.
[ this is an excellent question that i did not consider until this very moment. neither did ochako, apparently? it's caught her by surprise. ]
No...? [ why does she sound so unsure. ] But I guess I didn't really think about it before I left the inn this morning... Elsa-san's usually the one who reminds me about breakfast.
(And to the first aid station they arrive! He'll set her down and begin to rummage around for some supplies. Bandages, alcohol, cotton swabs, the like. When he returns, he kneels down in front of her with his collection beside him,)
[ oh no... she doesn't answer that, focusing instead on gently patting her cheeks to convince them to stop blushing. or maybe she should... hm. ]
Would it be easier if I took the bandages off? It... looks pretty close.
[ the arrow is a little higher than her old injury, but close enough that they might get in the way...? she'll unwrap them herself if it'll help, trying carefully to avoid the arrow. ]
